Privacy and your data
What DriveSync can see, what we store, and what never leaves your computer.
The short version: we hold the token that keeps you signed in to Google, and nothing else about your work. Your documents never reach us.
What DriveSync can see
DriveSync asks Google for one permission only: access to files you explicitly choose in Google’s file picker. It cannot list, read or open anything else in your Drive.
What we store
When you sign in to Google, the long-lived token that keeps you signed in is held on our server rather than on your computer, so that DriveSync can request short-lived access on your behalf. We also store your licence email, a random identifier for each computer, the computer’s name, its platform, and the date of each licence check.
What we never see
Your documents. Content travels directly between your computer and Google and never passes through our server. Your layouts, your text and your images are never uploaded to us.
How long we keep it
The Google token lives until you sign out or your licence has been inactive for twelve months, at which point we delete it and revoke it with Google. Licence records — the email, the per-computer identifier, the machine name and platform, and the dates of licence checks — are kept while the licence is active and for one year after it ends, because that is how long a lapsed customer might come back and want their seats.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone for advertising. There is no analytics script on this website and none inside the plugin.
Ending it
Signing out inside DriveSync deletes the stored token and revokes it with Google. You can confirm the revocation yourself at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
To have the rest deleted, email gdsoftwares@thedrivesync.com from the address your licence is registered to and ask. We delete the licence records within thirty days and reply to confirm when it is done. If you want a copy of what we hold first, ask in the same email and we will send it.
Deleting your records ends the licence — the seats go with it — so this is worth doing after a subscription has finished rather than during one.
