Terms of Service
Written to be read. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you buy rather than after.
These terms apply from the day you activate DriveSync. Last updated 2026.
1. Who these terms are with
DriveSync (“we”, “us”) provides the DriveSync plugin for Adobe InDesign. “You” means the person or organisation the licence is registered to. Writing to gdsoftwares@thedrivesync.com reaches us for anything in this document.
2. What your licence allows
While your licence is active we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use DriveSync for your own work or your organisation’s work, on up to the number of computers your tier covers.
You may use it commercially. Anything you produce with DriveSync is yours; we claim no interest in your documents, layouts or output.
You may not resell, sublicense or rent DriveSync, share your licence email outside your organisation, or attempt to defeat the licence check. Decompiling or reverse-engineering the plugin is not permitted except where the law says it is.
3. Seats
A seat is a computer, not a person. A desktop and a laptop used by the same designer are two seats; a shared machine used by four people is one.
You can move a seat yourself: deactivate on the machine you are leaving, activate on the new one. Reinstalling on the same computer does not consume a seat. If a machine is lost, stolen or wiped without being deactivated, write to us and we will release the seat.
4. The internet connection
DriveSync checks your licence with our server every time it runs and will not operate offline. This is a deliberate part of the design, not a fault, and it applies even to work that would otherwise be entirely local.
If our licence server is unreachable through no fault of yours and that prevents you working, tell us. We will extend your licence by the time lost.
5. Term, renewal and cancellation
A licence runs for twelve months and renews automatically for twelve more unless cancelled. We email you fourteen days before each renewal with the amount, the seat count and how to stop it; a price change is always announced in that email.
To cancel, reply to that email or write to us at any point before the renewal date. Your licence then runs to the end of the period you have paid for and stops. There is no cancellation fee.
6. Payment and taxes
Licences are billed annually in advance. Indian prices exclude GST, which is added to your invoice. Prices shown in US dollars are indicative and charged at the exchange rate on the day of payment; your bank may add its own fee, which we do not receive and cannot refund.
7. Refunds
We refund the full amount if you ask within fourteen days of paying. The refund policy sets out how, and what happens after those fourteen days.
8. If a licence lapses
DriveSync stops working and tells you why. Your InDesign documents are unaffected: text that has already been synced is ordinary InDesign text and stays exactly where it is. Renewing restores the plugin, and nothing needs reinstalling.
9. Updates and version support
Updates are included while your licence is active, including support for new annual releases of InDesign. We intend to support InDesign 2027 as a free update when Adobe releases it, and to keep pace with subsequent versions on the same basis.
That intention depends on Adobe continuing to support the extension technology DriveSync is built on. If Adobe withdraws it, we will tell you what we can do and when, as soon as we know — and if we cannot deliver a working version for a release you have already paid to be covered for, clause 7 and our own judgement apply. We would rather refund you than string you along.
10. What we do not promise
DriveSync is provided as it is. We have tested it hard on long, awkward documents, but we cannot promise it is free of defects or that it will handle every document you point it at.
In particular, DriveSync is not a backup, not a version-control system and not a collaborative editor. Save your InDesign document before a sync. The plugin refuses changes that would replace most of a long story, but that safeguard is not a substitute for a saved file.
11. Liability
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Beyond that, our total liability to you for any claim connected with DriveSync is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for lost profits, lost work, lost time, or damage to documents you did not save.
12. Ending it from our side
We may suspend or end a licence if it is being shared beyond the terms above, if the licence check is being tampered with, or if payment fails and stays unpaid after we have asked. Where the fault is not yours, we refund the unused part of the year.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the version that applies to you is the one in force when your current licence period began. Material changes are emailed to active licence holders, not quietly edited into this page.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are buying as a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove rights your local law gives you.
15. Adobe and Google
Adobe and InDesign are trademarks of Adobe. Google, Google Docs, Google Sheets and Google Drive are trademarks of Google. DriveSync is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by either company. Your use of InDesign and of Google’s services is governed by your agreements with them, not by this one.
16. Getting in touch
Questions about these terms go to gdsoftwares@thedrivesync.com, and are answered by a person within one working day.
