How the licence works

Your licence is tied to an email address. Enter that address in DriveSync once and the plugin is activated on that computer.

Each computer that activates takes one seat. Your licence covers a set number of seats, shown on the pricing page.

Moving to another computer

Open Settings ▸ Licence ▸ Deactivate this computer on the machine you are leaving. That frees the seat immediately, and the new machine can activate straight away.

Do this before wiping or selling a computer. Deleting DriveSync without deactivating leaves the seat in use, and only we can release it for you.

Reinstalling on the same computer does not use another seat.

An internet connection is required

DriveSync checks your licence every time it runs, so it needs to be online — including for work that would otherwise be entirely local. This is deliberate. Syncing from Google Drive needs the internet anyway, so in practice it is rarely a constraint.

Renewal

Licences run for twelve months from the date they start, and renew automatically for another twelve unless you tell us otherwise.

Fourteen days before that date we email you: what you are paying, for how many seats, and how to stop it. If the price has changed, that email says so — a renewal is never the first you hear of a new price. Nothing is charged in the meantime, so you have two weeks to decide.

Replying to that email to cancel is enough. You do not have to give a reason, and we will not send a second email asking for one.

If a licence lapses

DriveSync stops working, and says so plainly. Nothing happens to your InDesign documents: the text that has already been synced is ordinary InDesign text and stays exactly where it is. Renewing restores the plugin; nothing needs reinstalling.

Cancelling

Email us any time before the renewal date and the licence stops at the end of the twelve months you have already paid for. It does not cut out on the day you cancel — you keep what you bought.

There is no cancellation fee and no notice period beyond the renewal date itself.

Refunds

If DriveSync does not do what this website says it does, tell us within fourteen days of paying and we refund the whole amount. No form, no questions about what you tried.

After fourteen days the year is not refundable, but you can cancel the renewal at any point so it does not happen again. The refund policy sets this out in full.

Updates

Updates are included while your licence is active.

When a new build is ready we email everyone on an active licence with a short note on what changed and a download link. There is no updater inside the plugin and nothing phones home for a new version: you install an update when you choose to, which on a machine mid-project usually means afterwards.

Installing an update over an existing DriveSync does not use another seat and does not touch your connected documents.
